Why 360 changes the arithmetic

Conventional inspection photography is a sequence of decisions: what to frame, from where, how many shots per room. A 360 capture removes those decisions. You record the whole space and decide later what mattered, which is faster on site and more complete afterwards.

Armed with zInspector and a compatible 360 camera, property inspection gets a great deal quicker without the record getting thinner.

The actual routine

After a first-time setup of about five minutes, take your tripod-mounted 360 camera to the property. The loop per room is short enough to become automatic by the third one.

  1. 01Place the cameraCentre of the first room or yard, on the tripod, at a sensible height.
  2. 02Step out of sightMove out of frame, then press the 360 capture button in the zInspector app.
  3. 03Collect and move onReturn immediately, retrieve the camera, set up in the next space.
  4. 04Reuse the capturesTurn the same images into easy, affordable virtual tours inside zInspector.

A genuinely powerful tool, with caveats

360 works best as a complement to detail shots rather than a replacement for them. A panoramic capture proves the state of a room; a close photograph proves the state of a scratch. Most managers use both, and the app keeps them attached to the same inspection point.

Our support site lists the specific 360 cameras that work with zInspector, which is worth checking before you buy one. The captures also feed straight into a listing tour.

Common questions

Which cameras are compatible?

The support site carries the current list of supported 360 cameras. Check it before purchasing rather than after.

Do I still need to take normal photos?

For specific damage, yes. A 360 establishes the state of a room; a close shot documents a particular defect. The two do different jobs and both attach to the same inspection.

Is a tripod essential?

Strongly recommended. It gives consistent height between rooms and properties, and it is what lets you step out of the shot cleanly.
