iPhone property inspection

An iPhone can produce a professional inspection or an expensive photo dump. The difference is entirely in what happens between the shutter and the report.

Device
Any iPhone running iOS 9.3 or later.
Best for
One-handed capture while you are moving through a property.
Output
A structured report, not a camera roll.

Where iPhone inspections usually go wrong

Plenty of inspection apps assume that letting you take photos and drop them into a template is the job done. What you get back is a low-quality report that happens to contain pictures, and a set of images nobody can locate six months later.

The camera is not the limiting factor. An iPhone takes an excellent photograph. The limiting factor is whether that photograph is attached to a named room and detail, and whether the surrounding structure turns a walk through a property into something reviewable.

What changes when the structure is right

zInspector turns iPhone inspection capability fully professional. Solid standard templates, an in-app camera that is part of the inspection rather than a detour, and endless customisation where you need it, all working so that quick photo activities and full inspections both produce high-quality, professional reports.

  1. 01One hand, one thumbThe flow is built for someone holding a phone while opening cupboards, not for someone sitting at a desk.
  2. 02Shoot in contextThe camera opens against the detail you are inspecting, so the photo files itself as you take it.
  3. 03Keep the qualityThe in-app camera experience is designed to produce report-grade images rather than whatever survives compression.
  4. 04Finish on the phoneGenerate the report from the device. There is no second stage at a computer.

Small screen, full capability

Nothing is withheld from the phone experience. If you prefer more screen for the same work, the iPad inspection experience runs the identical templates, and teammates on Android sync to the same portal.

Common questions

Which iPhones are supported?

Anything running iOS 9.3 or above, which covers a very wide range of devices including older handsets still in service on a work phone.

Is a small screen a problem for long inspections?

Most people navigate comfortably on an iPhone. If you want more surface area, a larger iPhone or an iPad runs the same templates with no loss of function.

Can I use the native camera instead?

You can, but you lose the thing that makes the record useful. Photos taken in the app attach to the specific detail; photos taken outside it arrive as an undifferentiated batch.

Use the phone you already carry

Install it, define one property, and inspect a room to see the difference in the output.
